Fun Event For New Operators. Have Fun and Improve Your Radio Skills

Rookies, those who became licensed on/after January 1st 2022, come join the 2025 LMARS Rookie Challenge & Contest.

The LMARS Rookie Challenge & Contest is all about gaining exposure to and experience in operating HF, and other Ham related activities such as Public Service, Contesting, antenna building, and more. To have a fun ‘Hamming’ adventure. And finally, getting a chance to gain ‘bragging rights’ with what you have achieved and win some great prizes.

Prizes include:

Bragging rights for what you achieve.

Special recognition at our meetings and Christmas party.

Certificates of Achievement.

A new Yaesu FT-4XR handheld radio to the top scorer in each category. (HT radio prize will not be awarded to only a single entrant in a category, two or more entrants are needed in a category. One prize per person.)

AND… Other prizes which may be added during the competition.

There a two categories which are based on your starting license level.

Category 1: Technician Class licensees:

Category 2: General Class licensees; Extra Class licensees

The Challenge begins on May 1st 00:01 local and runs through October 31st. Activity report sheets must be submitted monthly with the October Activity report received no later than November 10th for evaluation. Winners will be announced at the annual Christmas Party in December.

No registration required. Your submission of activity is your registration.
